Summary: This project is to develop a mobile based pet entrée control system named “Smart Pet Entrée”. The existing pet entree system has very little considerations on the aspect of safety and security which might further become a threat to the pet owner. Smart Pet Entrée will help the pet owner in control their pets’ curfew with safety and security considerations. Smart Pet Entrée is a mobile application-based system which can be controlled by the pet owners. By having Smart Pet Entrée, pet owner can manage the door entree schedule for their pets. In this project, RFID tag is used in getting access to the entree. This system consists of five components which are physical door, the Arduino module, WIFI module, the mobile application, and AWS server. By integrating these five components, a secured and reliable pet entrée system is created. Several electronic components are used to build the systems; mainly the RFID sensors, WIFI module, hall effect sensors and solenoid. The implementation of the project will be carried out using Rapid Application Development Model (RAD) which each phase is improved iteratively. This system being tested through several test case and result of the testing being discussed.
