Material type: TextPublication details: 2017Dissertation note: Project paper (Bachelor of Computer Science ) - University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering, 2017. Summary: The purpose of this project is to create a web-based counselling for predicting field of study either Computer Science or Software Engineering. Main user of the system would be the student who needs to register first before using the system. User has the access to update profile, use the prediction system and make an appointment with the school counsellor. The appointment feature is included mainly for the student to discuss the prediction result, however student can still make an appointment regarding other issues. To create the system, Waterfall model was chosen as the methodology and three-tier architecture system was implemented. The prediction engine uses the C4.5 algorithm or also known as J48 machine algorithm in Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis software. Student uses the prediction system by answering the questions provided accordingly that will lead the predicted field which is either Computer Science or Software Engineering. Related information such as common specialisation fields, related careers and list of most popular universities that offer that specific course. Other than that, counsellor has its own webpage to access the information of the registered students and list of appointment.Item type | Current library | Collection | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds |

Project paper (Bachelor of Computer Science ) - University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering, 2017.
The purpose of this project is to create a web-based counselling for predicting field of study either Computer Science or Software Engineering. Other than that, counsellor has its own webpage to access the information of the registered students and list of appointment.
