-- The concept of an autonomous car is not new. In fact, several automobiles companies has been implementing autonomous technologies into the manufacturing of the cars such as the Ford Company with Tesla and Google with the driverless car. However, although the research of autonomous cars has simply made many impressive strides compared to when it started, several technologies surrounding the theories are still up in the car. Therefore, a prototype can be developed in order to simulate one such technology which is the sensory technology such as the use of ultrasonic sensors. Ultrasonic sensors are often used for range detection and has also been implemented in the current car as a method for proximity finding in the control of braking system. The prototype will then use this sensor in order to detect and avoid objects. It is possible to autonomously navigate while simultaneously detect objects with the use of the several individual components and a microcontroller. This is done by studying the hardware components and each specific functions, specifically the microcontroller and the possible connections that could be made. The microcontroller will act as a brain communicating efficiently with the other hardware components. By using the microcontroller, motor module and dc motors, an autonomous movement system can be developed. Additionally the movement system will be integrated with a servo motor for angle control that widens the range of detection for the ultrasonic sensor. Thus, this project is conducted in order to evaluate the probability of such method as well as conduct initial testing of hardware components by investigating possible wiring techniques and methods for efficient electrical current flow.
